Welcome to our Spring Newsletter. We hope that like us, you are enjoying the new life you are seeing around you. Spring is definitely springing with the sound of skylarks singing on high and
the flowers bursting with colour and the promise of a summer of growth and abundance.
The Equinox is a time when day and night are the same length, a time of balance and an opportunity to put those plans and ideas planted in the dark earth of winter into action.
For us at Heart of the Wild, those seeds are beginning to sprout. Our plans for the land we have been gifted at Anam Cara, began with two weekends building a deck for the yurt we have bought and putting the yurt up which was achieved this weekend with a sterling effort by Arbo, John, Jacq, Joany, Seersha and Lucy. Some of us learnt new skills, discovered muscles we never knew we had and had a lot of fun in the process.
We have a plan to erect a second yurt with a covered walkway connecting the two with a lockable door. One of the yurts will be somewhere to sit and eat and drink with a portable kitchen. Both
yurts will double as accommodation. We need to heat the yurts and so want to install log burners.
Next on our agenda is to build a compost toilet and so plans are afoot for that.
We have an exciting events calendar starting with our Yurt Blessing Day on Sunday 4 th May. We will have a ceremony to bless the yurt and the land at Anam Cara and for Heart of the Wild’s new
beginnings. Starting at 10am with putting the finishing touches to the interior of the yurt, the ceremony, and after lunch there will be an opportunity for anyone who wants to tell a story, or read a poem, sing or get up and do their party piece in the sacred space of the yurt.
Saturday 17 th and Sunday 18 th May will be two separate sweat lodge days with different themes each day. If you want to attend both days, accommodation will be camping, bring your own tent.
Saturday and Sunday 28 th and 29 th June will be a Healing Circles Weekend run by Highland Healing Circles in the beautiful sacred space of the Earthlodge. There will be two healing circles each day and accommodation will be camping. We can provide two tents for four people each or bring your own tent.
Sunday 3 rd August will be a Dragon Day, beginning with a shamanic
workshop exploring dragon energy, with journeys to meet your guardian dragon and the ancient Chinese celestial dragons finishing with a chance to dance with dragons before lunch and then an afternoon of dragon stories from around the world.
Lastly, Saturday and Sunday 18 th and 19 th October will be a Wild Weekend of activities caring for the land and being in community.
We would love it if you can join us for any or all of the events. It is the start of our management of the land, with rewilding projects planned and shamanic events in the future. Email [email protected] for more information.
Come and be part of Heart of the Wild’s exciting journey.
May all your seeds burst into life, grow strong and ripen.
Many blessings from the team at Heart of the Wild.
