Ego is more of a value question, where identity is how you identify yourself. In spirituality and self-help the ego is regularly labelled as bad, it’s demonized, it is shamed. However, I want to invite you to ponder on whether this rings true for you in relation to why we are here, and our soul contract that includes to develop ego and identity. The ego is the part of the mind that negotiates your sense of identity and sense of value and self with your shadow and your unconscious. It is the part of you that you consciously know is you. That is your ego identity in psychological terms. Here’s the thing: the ego needs differentiation between the wounded and the healthy ego if we want to approach it mystically. We explore this further through archetypes in our Journey Beyond Course here.
